Former President Donald Trump recently showcased the interior of a new limited-edition United States passport, which prominently features his image on a page preceding the Declaration of Independence. The document also includes a direct message cautioning individuals entering the U.S. to conduct themselves appropriately.
“The U.S.A.’s New Passport, which says, ‘Welcome, but be good!’ President DJT,” Trump stated in a social media post, accompanying his remarks with an image of the new passport.
Passport Design and Message
One page of the new passport displays a serious-looking image of Trump positioned above his signature. Another page features a visual representation of the Founding Fathers signing the Declaration of Independence, with the phrase “United States of America 250” inscribed beneath it.
These passports are scheduled for release later this summer and are part of the broader “America250” initiative, initially conceived during the Trump administration. This commemorative effort also encompasses events such as a Grand Prix race planned for the National Mall in August and a mixed martial arts event held on the White House South Lawn earlier this month.
Context of Stricter Entry Policies
The former president's announcement comes at a time when the United States has implemented more stringent vetting procedures for international visitors. These policies explicitly require tourists and non-immigrants to respect and abide by American laws and institutions.
These reinforced regulations coincide with the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which has drawn hundreds of thousands of international visitors to the U.S. to attend games concluding in July.
