Former CIA Director John Brennan Sues Trump Administration Over Investigation Records
The former intelligence chief alleges criminal probes against him are politically motivated and requests judicial intervention to safeguard related documents.

John Brennan, who previously served as the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, has filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration. The legal action seeks a court order compelling federal officials to preserve all records pertaining to criminal investigations targeting him, which he characterizes as amounting to "phantom criminal conduct."
Allegations of Political Motivation
Brennan contends in his lawsuit that the Department of Justice initiated these investigations specifically "at the direct urging of President Trump." The former intelligence chief asserts that these probes are not based on legitimate wrongdoing but are rather a consequence of political directives.
The suit states, "Regrettably, some in the current DOJ and Federal Bureau of Investigation leadership have acceded to that direction, and are converting the Justice Department into a tool of retribution against Director Brennan and the President’s other perceived adversaries."
This legal challenge underscores Brennan's belief that elements within the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation have yielded to pressure, transforming these agencies into instruments for retaliation against him and other individuals perceived as opponents of the President.
